On average, around 3,000 people die from strokes each year in Hong Kong, and in recent years, the condition has been affecting younger individuals. Ischemic strokes account for about 80%, while hemorrhagic strokes make up around 20%. Among survivors, some may lose partial sensory or motor abilities, depending on the location and severity of brain damage as well as the type of stroke. Post-stroke rehabilitation is especially important.

The Bobath Therapy, developed by Mrs. Berta Bobath in the 1950s, is a neurorehabilitation technique that plays a crucial role in stroke recovery and is regarded as one of the highest authorities in the field. Different approaches are used for ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. Bobath Therapy is particularly effective in improving mobility for individuals who have had a stroke for many years. It is recommended to undergo one-on-one therapy sessions, one to two times per week, with each session lasting two hours, to enhance the rehabilitation effect.
